Mệnh đề quan hệ mệnh đề phụ hay gọi mệnh đề tính ngữ (adjective clause) Nó thường bổ nghĩa cho danh từ đứng trước nó.Mệnh đề quan hệ bắt đầu đại từ quan hệ như WHO, WHOM, WHICH, …

Đặc biệt: danh từ người + giới từ + WHOM

1 Mệnh đề quan hệ xác định (defining relative clause):
Là mệnh đề rất cần thiết cho ý nghĩa câu Bỏ câu không đủ nghĩa Liền trước sau mệnh đề xác định khơng có dấu phẩy.

Là mệnh đề không cần thiết cho ý nghĩa câu Bỏ mệnh đề đủ nghĩa Mệnh đề không xác định tách với mệnh đề một hai dấu phẩy.
EX: Shakespeare, who wrote Romeo and Juliet, died in 1616. Non- defining relative clause
(14)Mệnh đề quan hệ không xác định dùng danh từ mà thêm thơng tin danh từ riêng, các tính từ sở hữu (my, your, his, her, its, our, their) từ this, that, these, those.
